Q. Can I get coronavirus from books?

No, according to the NC Department of Health and Human Services:

"Based upon what we know at this time about the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), we believe books – including those in Braille – are not likely to be fomites (objects or materials which are likely to carry infection).  So, no special handling is needed and a quarantine period between use by library patrons is not warranted."

As an extra precaution, we will be quarantining all books returned to us for 72 hours, so they will take some time to be removed from your account. No overdue fines will be charged at this time.
