To assist educators in providing materials for students being educated in New Hanover County, the library offers free Educator library cards to teachers, childcare providers, and homeschool families providing education to children in New Hanover County. The Educator card offers expanded availability of library materials for classroom use, with an extended checkout limit and checkout period (up to 50 items, checked out for 6 weeks).
To apply for an Educator card at any NHCPL location, the teacher should bring a photo ID, proof of mailing address, and verification of current status as an educator in New Hanover County
