Graphic novels and science-fiction/fantasy make up large parts of any library’s circulating collection. The superheroes who star in movies and TV shows often originated from these, and libraries see a big uptick in the checkout of these graphic novels when a movie is about to come out.

  • For example, there is a demand for Black Panther comics because the film was recently released.

Comics/graphic novels are excellent for visual learners and teach the basics of storytelling in a compact format. We also want to connect our patrons to other community partners and resources, and a comic con is a great way to do that.
